Special requirement for the postdoctoral fellow candidates:

We desire candidates with research experiences and accomplishments in at least one of the following areas:

1) computational materials science, especially first principle/DFT based calculations for 2D and nano materials; materials genome; applications of machine learning and AI in materials research;

2) experimental studies of nano/2D materials

Academic Qualifications:

Candidates should have PhD degrees in related disciplines (physics, chemistry, materials, nanotechnology, engineering etc.)

Section 2: Research Interests and Grants

Major Research Interests:

Specific interests for this program include:

1) Machine learning and AI-enabled discovery and design of novel 2D materials for electronic, optoelectronic and mechanoelectronic applications;

2) Application of machine learning/AI and other computational techniques in in experimental science research (e.g. spectroscopy and microscopy in materials research, image processing and pattern recognition in biomedical research)

More general and broader interests:

Nanoscience and Nanotechnology; Quantum science and technology; Condensed matter physics (esp. 2D and topological materials --- synthesis, characterizations, transport and optical studies, energy and device applications); atomic/molecular and optical physics (quantum optics, Bose condensates, quantum simulation, quantum chemistry)
